Most common mistakes in the usage of grammar and punctuation marks
They’re were things in life we often used to do and not even think that were committing mistakes upon doing so. Though we never intended to do it so, but it needs to be corrected to give out the best in us and excel in every concentration we choose to pursue. Life is ended it is, in every journey there’s lesson could be learned, all we need is be flexible enough to drive on with the changes in life that may come and go.
At the start of our career, resume plays a big role, on how far we could go up to the very end of our success or failure maybe. Resume serves as our reflection on every company we wanted to be with, to be our partner in making one career grow up to the very best it could possibly be.
Upon writing a resume there were mistakes that many thought it to be a negligible one. It is quite a mistake but many never know they are committing that one. Upon identifying those mistakes is relevant, for upon doing nothing in this case, could possibly bring trouble to the betterment of one career.
Here are some significant mistakes that most of the time could be done:
1. Usage of they’re, there and their. Confusion may occur into these three common terms. There is a contraction, it means they are; there is an adverb one in which indicating a place of action; there is a possessive, such as their dogs.
2. The usage of yourself and myself. Some misuse this language for it may sound so respectful instead of using the word you or me. “ I, myself, liked the rings.” Upon using the word myself it goes only upon emphasizing a point of view. The sentence “I have enough for you and for myself.” Is incorrect. It should be “I have enough for you and me.”
3. Usage of apostrophe. Apostrophes are often over used on making the words into a plural one. When supposedly it is just on denoting the missing letter as in the contradiction or to indicate a possessive
4. Usage of its and it’s. It’s is a contradiction, you could say, “It’s going to be fantastic day” but never say this “The cat hurt it’s foot.”
5. Usage of quotation marks. The most common error committed is the misplacement of the quotation marks. Quotation marks always go outside of the punctuation at the end of the sentence. Such as “Not this.” not “not this”.
Some may never consider this as an irrelevant one, but it’s quite important to know the basic mistake to keep you out upon doing so as one step for a better success.
