This problem was brought about the economic downturn that is happening all through different areas of the globe. This had also brought job seekers into a much tougher job race. Now, HR gatekeepers are struggling with an overflow of resumes.
If you are seeking a job right now, do you think your resume could catch attention despite the resume overflow? Well, your resume must have an effective selling and you must know what are the common mistakes in resume writing.
· One-page resume myopia.
- For some instances, most career advisers would say that when making a resume, it should only be limited in one page so that employers would be able to scan your resume easily. This idea doesn’t make sense because the point of making a resume is to sell your self on the job market. It is not just making others know that you are looking for a job. A one-page resume is good only to those who have no experience yet and those who haven’t have much of accomplishments. It is important to remember that the more of good things you could write in your resume, the higher is the possibility of getting hired.
· Not including accomplishments.
- Some job seekers focus on writing duties rather than accomplishments. Sometimes, with the idea of making a one-page resume, others don’t include anymore the accomplishments to cut the limit, which is not a good idea. Employers would definitely take time knowing your duties as a worker but then, always remember that employers gets impressed with what have you gained from your duties. You should not worry of writing a long resume if you have got a lot of good accomplishments to write into.
· Stumpy objectives.
- When making an objective, strike on the big hit. It is very stupid to aim just a small thing. Being ambitious is not bad, it is just showing that we are aiming well and we are powered in doing all things to achieve it in a good way.
