It is just a mean of letting your career grow. But then if resume is the thing that matters when looking for a job, resignation letter on the other part is the thing that matters when leaving for a job.
Meanwhile, here are some tips that will help you maintain a good figure when resigning for a particular job:
- Inform your direct supervisor or manager earlier than that of your resigning date.
- Give proper notice for at least 2 weeks.
- Make a clear official resignation letter.
- When your supervisor or manager talks to you, give some plausible reasons on why are you resigning. It would be better to pick out some good points on your new job. Higher salary would be fine.
- Always be polite. Make a thought that your boss had influenced you much with good works.
- Make a chance to tell your co-workers about your plan of leaving the job. You can give them reason but don’t go beyond deeper reasons. You can say, “It’s just a better opportunity.”
- Remember not to boastful.
- With your last period, still do the best that you can with your job. If your manager had already found a replacement on your position, take time training the new employee until your work period ends.
- Don’t forget to give and collect contacts of your manager, supervisor and co-workers.
- When you leave, make sure that you have cleaned up your table. You should have packed all your things including personal photos and so on.
