Weak economy is what the world trying to surpass. Teens are finding it hard to find after school employment due to the tight job market.
Teens should consider these valuable tips that could help in their career improvement:
- Prepared. Whenever applying for a job, bring a resume, a well-written resume. This is so essential for teens are competing for jobs with adults. Well-written resume would shows that you are mature and a responsible person.
- Brave. Weak economy needs more employers, which are enthusiastic, affordable and energetic that most of the teenagers possess. Seeking for jobs in this weak economy is a brave start that would simplify you to be a candidate of a career building person.
- Persistent. Being persistent gives positive impact to one company. Making follow-ups on the job after not hearing a news after a week, and don’t stop applying. And whenever interviews are done, you could send a thank you note.
- Politeness. First impressions last. Prove yourself on the first meeting; this would serve as an opportunity. Dress-up, shake-hands make eye contact and avoid slang languages.
- Creative. Be creative upon finding jobs. Jobs could not only be seen on malls. Weak economies means that people are going to be looking to cut costs in areas such as lawn and child care.
