Haven’t been looked for a job? If yes, then you’re probably not familiar at the term KSA is. It is the abbreviation of the word Knowledge, Skills and Abilities. These three are the most required things, especially with those government fields. KSA would help employer upon determining your proficiency in performing the vacant position in need to be filled. Job seeking is a competition, the reason why it is so important that you could elaborate fully and explain your capabilities in terms of KSA, in which gained with your education, past employment and experience. In resume writing, if you cannot point it out that you are the best candidate for the position through indicating your KSA, it’s really been a waste of time.
Position description. Before evaluating yourself on the KSA thing you should carefully analyze first the position description. Through this, it would give specific clues what language you are going to response and could take note of the words that are required on the qualifications and write them into your knowledge, Skills and Abilities interpretation. Upon doing so, you could immediately do a link between yourself and the capability to perform the job.
Provide specific examples. Upon doing your KSA response you should include specific examples on how frequently you have been using your skills, the complexity of your acquired knowledge and how well you could interact with different level of people. You could also include the most important decision you had made for a company resulting into a brilliant output. It should be containing previous examples that would demonstrate your best knowledge, skills and ability.
Chronological order. Upon demonstrating the KSA factor see to it that they were arrange in chronological order. Wherein the key part of the KSA factor is at the beginning. Your grammar and writing must be perfect, the most important part that should not be taken for granted.
Though you are not applying for a government job, still KSA factors are vital. Many of the corporate employers were making bases primarily on the KSA factors rather than wit so many others. If you could identify your own capabilities in your Knowledge, Skills and Abilities, that would be a great edge within you.
